In person is how you really learn

What’s taught

If you want to learn a skill properly, rope above all, find a local class rather than leaning on videos. Search your city's kink group for a class calendar, turn up as a total beginner because they are used to that, and use it to meet people as much as to learn. Hands-on teaching is both safer and faster than trying to work it out alone.
For experienced members
The players who have been at it for years keep learning in person, through advanced workshops, peer jams, and teaching others, which has a way of exposing their own gaps. Classes are both skill-building and community infrastructure to them. For the risky skills they use media as reference, never as instruction, and they steer newcomers toward local classes as the safest and most social way in.
